The Victoria Peak or The Peak is the highest mountain and a spectacular attraction in Hong Kong Island. It is famous not only for the rich and privileged people living around the area but also as the most visited tourists attraction in Hong Kong Island.
Getting onto the Victoria Peak is either by bus or Peak Tram. The Peak Tram is the oldest and famous funicular railway rising up 396 meters above sea level from the base behind St. George Building, going up to the Peak Tower. While on transit you will be passing several buildings that look like leaning around 40 degrees, but it’s actually the tram that is ascending the mountain.
The other way is by bus 15 from Exchange Square Terminus. It is a very exciting and cheaper way of adventure going to the Victoria Peak passing Wan Chai area and the winding road along the mountain that offers thrill as if you will fall from the mountainside.
The Peak Tower in Victoria Peak is a striking landmark to visit. It is famous for good shopping, dining, and sight-seeing that gives pleasure to every visitor. You have to go up by escalator before reaching the Sky Terrace, a 428 meters above sea level platform that will give you a wondrous 360 degrees panoramic view of the Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong Skyline and the famous Victoria Harbour.
A gallery showcasing the works of famous artists can be found by people with keen eye for arts and other souvenir shops. For fun and thrill, Madame Tussaud 's Wax Museum is a unique tourist attraction of famous people and celebrities made of wax with six themes that guests have the opportunity meeting their "idol" and enjoy the experience. Victoria Peak also offers nature walks winding through mountainous landscape where you can see lush tropical forest and bird life. There are four suggested walking trails for exploration, namely Mount Austin Road leading to Mt. Austin Playground, Victoria Peak garden, Hong Kong Trail and Pok Fu Lam Country Park. All of the trails have maps that will show you around.
Going to the Hong Kong’s Victoria Peak offers thrilling experience, excitement, and fun that you will never forget.
