For nature lovers, it is refreshing to see greenery in the middle of the city. The Hong Kong Park is perched at the heart of Central district in Hong Kong. It offers a much needed stretch of green from the bustling city streets and fast paced lifestyle of Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Park offers sanctuary, a place for peace and serenity from the hustle and bustle lifestyle - a great place for relaxation.
The Hong Kong Park was built in 1991 and costs around HK$ 398 Million. It covers 8 hectares in Central district with different attractions and landscapes, to provide the much needed relaxation and scenes for the public.
The park also provides wonderful features and attractions. It has a tai-chi garden that offers classes you can participate to.

Other attractions of Hong Kong Park include:
- An Aviary - The aviary features almost 90 species of birds that are native to Asia. The visitors are taken up to a tree canopy via a walkthrough facility. The aviary is explained further in their leaflets that can be downloaded in the website.
- A conservatory - The Forsgate Conservatory occupies about 1,400 square meters of the area and has 3 sections. You can see 200 species of butterflies that are originally from Hong Kong, 100 species of dragonflies, and other plants. The conservatory installed an adjustable environmental equipment to stimulate different climate condition specific for different plants from different regions.
- Central Garden - The garden has a tree-line promenade that leads to a fountain pavilion, where one can sit surrounded by water
- Sports center and squash center - For sports-lovers, a sports center was also installed in the park premises.
- Children’s Playground, Promenades, Paths for joggers, etc.
The Hong Kong Park’s highlight is its artificial lake that links different features of the park by waterfalls, streams, ponds, and artificial rocks. It is also home for turtles that are often seen lounging around the rocks.
With all these marvelous features and ambience of Hong Kong Park, you can really take a break right in the heart of Central district.
