Happy Valley Racecourse

Even for those who aren’t fond of horses or aren’t race enthusiasts, there is excitement in watching horses run as fast as they can. Adrenaline pumps as you and other enthusiasts shout as their favorite horses hit or miss the finish line.
Happy Valley Racecourse is one of the famous race horse courses in Hong Kong and a major tourist attraction. The race usually takes every Wednesday night and is open to the public, as well as members of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Tickets for the Race can be purchased at the gate, or at Hong Kong tourism Board Office at the Star Ferry in Kowloon.

What to do in Happy Valley Racecourse:
Of course, you can watch the horses, race through the course. It is a great form of entertainment. You can purchase the Tourist Badge Package where you get to be picked up from your hotel, seat in a private box served with meal and wine. Also you need to dress-up. But if you’re not up to dressing up, you can join the crowd and go to the public area.
You can see the horse up-close before the race starts in the Parade Ring. You can even take pictures with the horses. The Parade Ring in Happy Valley Racecourse also has a retractable roof, so even if it rains, you still get to see the horses.
If you want to have a ice-cold beer, you can go to the Beer Garden, located at the Forecourt and has an excellent view of the track and the race. It offers a friendly outside feel with hot dogs and barbecue foods that you can buy, should you get hungry.
You can also learn the history of the racecourse in the Hong Kong Racing Museum. It is located in the second floor of the Happy Valley Stand. The museum also has souvenir shops. The Happy Valley Racecourse also houses a gift shop where you can document or even buy a keepsake of your experience.
Although, it is mainly a horse racing, the Happy Valley Racecourse has other facilities. The inner field also has sports facilities that can be used for football, rugby, and hockey. So, what are you waiting for? Come, and have fun with the horses at the Happy Valley Racecourse!
