The Hong Kong Skyline is best viewed from above. And the highest point of the Hong Kong Island is The Peak or Victoria Peak. Resting on The Victoria Peak, the Peak Tower stands at 396 meters above sea level. It is stylish and an architectural icon in Hong Kong. Its view had been featured in postcards and photographs all over the world.
The Tower was extensively revitalized in 2006 and is now one of the most visited tourist destination in Hong Kong. It also accommodates the upper terminal of the Peak Tram. The Peak Tower is host for several special events all year round, including concerts, theatrical productions and other performance.
At the Peak Tower, you see the highest viewing platform / observation deck in Hong Kong which is on its rooftop called Sky Terrace 428, where you get to see and photograph the 360 degrees panoramic view of the Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong Skyline and the Victoria Harbour.
The Peak Tower is also a shopping, dining and leisure destination in Hong Kong. It is a must see when you go to Hong Kong. It pretty much has everything - shops, restaurants and the great view.
Aside from the usual shops and restaurants, the Peak Tower is also home for several attractions such as Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Odditorium, and the Peak Explorer Motion Simulator. The Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum was added to its attractions and replaced the Hong Kong’s Historical Adventure when it eventually closed in year 2000.
Views from the Peak Tower are more appreciated on a bright day or the evening when all the lights are on. The view is spectacular. You can go to the Peak Tower via the Peak Tram, taxis and buses. The Peak Galleria, which is just adjacent, is another popular leisure and shopping centre.
When you go to the Peak Tower, keep in mind to schedule it on a good day. There could be high humidity so bring extra clothes. Also, be sure to be prepared for a lot of walking so keep yourself hydrated. After all, the Peak Tower stands among the tallest in Hong Kong.
